Ballot Issues In Albion, Voters be Aware

An Albion voter reached out to City Watch NEWS about a ballot concern. The voter said they had not received their ballot yet for the general election in November. They have always received the ballot. They went and spoke with the Albion City Clerk, Jill Domingo, to inquire why they haven’t received a ballot. Domingo told the voter that their name was listed as accessibility and not allowed to get a mail in ballot.

City Watch called the clerk, and Domingo returned the call and I inquired about why this happened. It was explained that when we all first filled out registration for mail in ballots, simply put, there was a certain way to sign up to get mail in ballot. Domingo printed a ballot for the voter and fixed the issue so that they will continue to get their ballot from now on.

What does this mean? If you have not received your ballot yet, at least in Michigan, go to your local clerk as soon as possible and have them check to see why. This may have been a single voter issue, but it may be a sign of a larger issue. This particular voter has received ballots since the very start of Michigan’s new law.

Go to your clerk if you have not received your mail in ballot yet. Remember, to carry your completed ballot back to your clerks office or drop box.
