Honor our Veterans

Written by John Face

The 11th hour, of the 11th day of the 11th month

Yesterday Riverside Cemetary had a couple good neighbors. Larry Maynard and Willis Vaughn took time to volunteer and weed wack all the veteran graves they could in preparation for today. The cemetery has been neglected the last year or so, it’s nice that someone cares enough to do something. They did the veterans section, American Legion section then the Black veterans’ section. They gave hours of their time and deserve to be noticed. The last photograph is of the grave belonging to Patrick Hanlon, who is the namesake of our local American Legion.

Thanks Larry and Willis, you honored our veterans by making sure their graves looked beautiful.
