This writer was able to watch the run through of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Monday night on the Historic Bohm Theatre’s stage. It is a fun show that you will love to watch. This comedy musical is fast paced, filled with music and dance. I must admit it was great to hear a real orchestra in the “pit” again. The performances for the show will be Friday at 7:00 P.M., Saturday at 7:00 P.M,. and a Sunday matinee at 2:00 P.M. All performances will be at the Bohm Theatre in downtown Albion, with ticket price for the show of $12.00 ea. Click on this to go purchase tickets. Doors open a half hour before showtime, and tickets are available at the box office.
This show will be ACT II’s first full feature play since its return in 2019. The organization’s first show was scheduled in March of 2020 but two days before opening it was shut down for Covid; the group has been working since then to get theatre to return in Albion. They held a “Shakespeare on Superior” performance last year during the Festival of the Forks with children and put on “For Heaven’s Sake” in April, a three actor play as a benefit for the Boy Scouts.
