Senator John Bizon of Battle Creek MI is facing assault charges. The incident occurred August 14 at Oaklawn After Hours Express in Marshall. The nurse practitioner with Oaklawn Medical Group accused him of inappropriately touching her. The victim told police that while she was explaining medication, Bizon put his right arm around her, placed his right hand on her waist and pulled her toward his body.
Bizon asked the nurse practitioner to order a specific medication for him, according to the police report. She refused and Bizon questioned her. The nurse practitioner told him that what he requested was not a medication for his diagnosis. He then questioned her decision and said he was disappointed in her, according to the report. The nurse practitioner said Bizon was visibly angry. He got off the exam table and said he was disappointed in her several times as he walked down the hallway and left the building. The victim has asked that charges be brought against him.
Court records show that the case was reassigned from the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office to the Barry County Prosecutor’s Office last month, Battle Creek is located in Calhoun County. Bizon will be tried for a misdemeanor, according to the prosecutor. “Regardless of who he is, we plan to just treat it like we would any other case,” said Barry County Prosecutor Julie Nakfoor Pratt. Bizon is scheduled for arraignment on January 19, 2022
